Trends to Watch: 2023

We consider ourselves very lucky that our work consists of spending our time in beautiful homes, designed by talented individuals. Given that this is our job, we are always on the forefront of emerging trends. This is what we are seeing right now!

Mono-Room Fabrics

It sounds a little matchy-matchy in theory but in practice, it is incredibly chic when a designer applies one fabric to the entire room – furnishing and walls. And then punctuates it with trim. We love seeing this trend that envelopes a space take hold.

Textured Fabric

How do you add a sense of depth to a room? Textured fabrics of course. Boucle adds a warmth and comfort, whereas silk elevates the sophistication of design. Mixing textures is the key to creating an inviting, chic atmosphere.

Pink + Brown = The New Neutrals

Calming, natural hues bring a restful, earthy feel to any space. This year they are going towards warmer whites, taupe, and all shades of brown, with pink, coral, and mauve or the more current name, dusty pink (not the 80’s version) adding a feminine pop of color. Nature-inspired hues are taking over for the grey palates of late and dominating the design scene.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a trend we put our business behind. Protecting with Fiber-Seal helps ensure that your furnishings last and don’t wind up in a landfill. Designers and homeowners alike are sourcing with an eye towards zero-waste, artisan-produced, or up-cycled elements. Sustainable fabrics are those derived from eco-responsible resources like linen, wool and organic cotton. As the industry evolves, we are seeing new sustainability trends including recycled materials and more realistic vegan leather (which is made from plants but looks like leather).

Whether your rooms are neutral or full of color, Fiber-Seal protection will increase the longevity of your fine furnishings.
