As the founder and principal of her eponymous design firm, Elissa Grayer is known for beautifying homes throughout the New York-metro area. Her secret weapon for giving her projects a polished and protected finish? Fiber-Seal.

“We can bring Fiber-Seal in at the end of the project—and they can protect an entire room, or an entire house worth of furniture at one time,” she shares.

For the past 50 years, Fiber-Seal has been providing a simple solution to keep carpets and upholstery looking fresher for longer. The company’s proprietary formulas are designed to reduce the absorbency of carpets, furniture, and fabrics without changing its color or texture. And, since its most popular offerings are GREENGUARD Gold-certified, you can rest easy knowing the treatment is good for your home’s wellbeing. “What I love about it is that it is non-toxic,” Grayer adds. “That means that it tests low for chemical emissions and is eco-responsible, meeting all state and federal air quality requirements.”

Though Grayer applies Fiber-Seal toward the end of her project—once the rugs and furniture have been installed—she says it is a fairly easy process. Once you book a consultation with the Fiber-Seal team—Grayer says Fiber-Seal works on an array of materials, but you will need someone to do the legwork—a technician will come to clean and protect your fabrics. Fiber-Seal will dry in three to five hours—and fully cure in 24 to 48 hours—and Fiber-Seal always leaves clients with a spot-cleaning kit for minor mishaps and complimentary service calls for a year, should there be any sneaky spills. “This gives our clients the feeling that we are taking care of them long after our work at their house is done,” Grayer adds.

Grayer says the extra insurance is priceless. “[One of our clients] was having a big party the following week, and she thought she was going to have to roll up the carpet to protect it,” she recalls. “But Fiber Seal gave her the confidence to leave the carpets in place so all of the guests could admire the beautiful room!”
